Book Club Policy
We love that you want to gather, read, and share stories together at Story Hollow! To keep our space cozy, organized, and community-focused, we ask that all book clubs follow the policy below.
📖 What Qualifies as a Book Club?
For the purposes of this policy, a book club is defined as a group of 4 or more people meeting regularly (weekly, monthly, etc.) to discuss books at Story Hollow.
📅 Scheduling & Space Use
We maintain a calendar to ensure we have space for everyone. All book clubs must reserve their meeting time in advance through our store calendar. This helps us avoid overlap and provide the best experience possible for everyone.
✅ How to Reserve a Spot
To be eligible for the calendar and meet at Story Hollow, your book club must meet at least one of the following requirements:
-
Purchase your current book from Story Hollow for all members.
– As a thank you, we offer a 10% discount when book clubs order or buy their current read through us.
----OR----
-
Pay the Book Club Space Fee (only if don’t purchase books through us):
– $10 per meeting during store hours
– $20 per meeting outside store hours
(Fee is payable in advance in increments of 4 meetings.)
These contributions help us maintain the space and continue hosting vibrant, local events.
👥 Group Size Limits
Due to the cozy nature of our space, we kindly ask all book clubs to observe the following group size limits:
-
During store hours: maximum of 6 people
-
Outside store hours: maximum of 12 people
☕ Food & Drink
-
Outside drinks are welcome as long as they have a covered lid to help protect our books and furniture.
-
Outside food must be pre-approved in advance. Please reach out before bringing snacks or meals—we’re happy to work with you to keep the space clean and welcoming for all.
👨👩👧 Children During Meetings
We love having young readers in the store! However, during book club meetings, children must remain with their parents or guardians at all times. For the safety of all guests and the care of our space, children should not wander the store unsupervised while meetings are in session.
📌 What to Expect
If meeting during store hours:
-
The reading nook space is shared; extra chairs cannot be added.
-
Other patrons may be in the store and are welcome to use the reading nook or nearby areas.
-
Please note that the children’s section may be lively during your meeting time.
If meeting outside store hours:
-
A staff member will be on-site to assist with any needs.
-
Extra chairs can be added to the reading nook space for your group.
-
Your book club will have exclusive use of the store during that time—no interruptions, just your stories.
